Drive Shafts
A drive shaft is something, which conveys power from mobile work equipment to any equipment connected to it.

You should therefore assess the risks that could occur if the drive shaft should seize, for example ejection of parts, the fitting of slip clutches and guards which may protect the operator / others if this should happen.

To prevent damage to drive shafts and guards when not in use, the drive shaft should be supported on a cradle. Dropping drive shafts, resting them on draw bars or allowing them to come in contact with the ground, can lead to damage / dirt, which will increase the risk of seizure.
