any COSHH risk assessment where there is a likelihood of exposure to a hazardous
substance then the employer is responsible for setting up exposure controls these
may be a combination of any of the following: - elimination
of the use of the substance

use of a less hazardous substance or the same substance in less hazardous form
for the same purpose

enclosure of the process and handling systems
- processes,
plant or systems of work, which minimise production of substances or help, contain
them
- partial
enclosure with local exhaust ventilation
- local
exhaust ventilation
- general
ventilation systems
- reduction
in the number of persons exposed (e.g. by access control)

reduction
in the time persons are exposed
- regular
cleaning of exposed surfaces
- safe
storage and disposal methods
- personal
protective equipment
- not
allowing eating, drinking or smoking in contaminated areas

adequate
facilities for washing, changing and storage of clothing

emergency
procedures for spills or leaks
