27 deals with FLTs. Many of the features of Regulation 26 also apply to FLTs.
Again adequate risk assessment of the working area of FLTs, supplying operators
with sufficient information and proper training should minimise the assessed risks.
When considering protective structures / restraining devices to minimise risk
you should take into account the age of the FLT. Some older models prior to 5th
December 1998 may require substantial modification. If the risks are considered
small then the cost may not be justified. However if the risks are considered
to be sufficiently high and modifications cannot be safely applied, then consideration
should be given to purchasing new equipment. Section
