is a legal requirement to display a current health and safety law poster or an
equivalent leaflet. The poster was first introduced in 1989 but has since been
updated. The current law was introduced on the 1st
October 1999. The poster can be obtained from various health and safety
suppliers, an example of the new law poster is shown below. It
is essential that: -
Dirty, illegible or torn posters are replaced as soon as possible

The law poster(s) should be placed in prominent position where all staff, visitors,
contractors etc. etc. can have access to it.

All the relevant boxes on the poster should be fully completed as required
