| The Regulations are wide ranging and include items of equipment such as cranes, passenger lifts in an office block, a Dumb waiter in a restaurant, lift trucks, goods lifts, mobile elevating work platforms, construction site hoists, gin wheels and vehicle inspection hoists. The Regulations also cover all accessories for lifting such as chains and other slings, ropes and hooks, shackles and eye bolts. LOLER also applies to other lifting equipment which may not be quite so obvious, such as: a bath hoist in a residential home and air cargo elevator transfer vehicle, a front end loader on a tractor. If the item of equipment is used for lifting or lowering a load then it will be covered under these Regulations. |
